So, why a mental training clinic? Well...

It was 14-8, I was fencing great, and I was confident that I was about to move on to the next round—a little too confident. Two touches later, at 14-10, it still seemed like I had the advantage, but I could tell everything had changed. I'd begun to panic.

Five more increasingly desperate attempts for me to get that one final point that would win the bout, and it was all over.

I was leading 14-8, and lost the bout.

That was without a doubt the worst moment in my fencing career, and I never want to have that feeling again. But the truth is, when that happened I didn’t know what to do when I panicked. I didn’t know how to take a pause, regain my composure, or get my head back in the bout—but after that, I was determined to learn.

After years of research, experimentation, trial and error, and working with an expert at staying cool under pressure (2016 Olympian Jason Pryor) I developed this clinic.

I call it Diamond Mind.

In it, I teach 4 simple methods of controlling your emotions and recovering from panic. Each of these techniques is based in neuroscience, and is proven to help with those moments when everything is going wrong.

Testimonials

Marcus Mepstead, Silver Medalist, 2019 World Championships

"I really liked the clinic, I thought it was... The biggest thing I drew out of it... sometimes I was doing stuff and I didn't realize I was practicing my mental skills... that session allowed the kids to recognize when they were doing it, and just starting that conversation is a massive first step."

Andrey Geva, 2020 US Olympic Coach

"I invited Corwin to the club because when I went to coach at the Olympics it was clear that the mental game was a big factor for everyone there. He taught several mental techniques and helped fencers practice them during bouts. His clinic is good, and I would recommend it to other coaches and fencers."

I'll see you there.
