FC Welcomes New Sabre Coach

2/8/2013: Fencers Club Welcomes New Sabre Coach

Dear FC Members and Friends,

After an extensive search by the Fencers Club Search Committee for a world-class sabre coach, we are very pleased to announce that Coach Archil “Achiko” Lortkipanidze, will be joining our coaching roster beginning on Monday, February 11th. Please join us in welcoming him at an informal reception in the lounge on Monday from 7:00-8:00PM (light refreshments will be served).

Coach Achiko has extensive coaching experience in both his home country of the Republic of Georgia, and in the United States (Nebraska, Colorado and, most recently, Westchester, NY). Achiko had a successful athletic career, including being an Olympian (1996 Atlanta Games), Soviet Union Champion, and World Cup finalist. His students have also achieved significant results at both the national and international level, including a silver medal at the 2012 Cadet World Cup and multiple medals at 2012 North American Cups (NACs) and Junior Olympics.
