FC Receives Major International Grant

March 24, 2015

Dear Members and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that we announce a major grant from the International Charity Fund For the Future of Fencing (the Fund). The Fund was founded by Mr. Usmanov, President of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), and the mission of the Fund is to facilitate international popularization of fencing and raise the sport to a higher level worldwide. We are most grateful for this crucial funding and international recognition for the impactful programs we have implemented in the last several years, especially with the FIE and FIE Clubs Movement Initiative.

FIE Clubs Initiative Movement (CMI) is part of the FIE program that aims to broaden the base and elevate the level of fencing worldwide by networking the highly successful clubs worldwide. In 2014 Fencers Club was chosen to represent the United States in the FIE CMI.

This generous grant will support Fencers Club as we continue our partnership with the FIE and FIE Clubs Movement Initiative to implement sustainable fencing programs locally and globally. A major donation like this requires careful planning to make the most impact while also furthering Fencers Club’s goals and mission. Using this support we plan to establish the Fencers Club International Fencing Advancement Program. More information will follow. As always, your thoughts and input are welcome.

Thank you for being members and friends of our diverse and vibrant community.
